Challenge by Sarah (SOTC)
Edit: Plantsims and plantsim children *are* allowed. However, (it's a big but.) plant sim baby points that they matched up with their parents. (the ones they get when they're "born") do *not* count. They still have to earn their points. This means you can't get your adult full and then have them spawn seven kids. Sorry! It's a great loophole that I'm trying to block up.
I call it that I-want-to-avoid-playing-like-me-like-the-plague-challenge, but you can just call it annoying, if you'd like.
The challenge requires seasons, but the rest of the ex packs aren't required. Though they are sometimes quite helpful, I admit.
Base rules: The challenge will last 32 (EDIT: Ack. I think I was wrong, and there are five days per season. Just go with the two times over rule) days, which is all four seasons twice. I don't care what seasons are used, it's really just there to keep track of time.
Start with a newly made adult Sim fresh from CAS. This sim is to move into the smallest maxis lot. You may build or download a house to move them into, but they must be on the one by three lot.
The Sim is to live in a home with no objects that can gain skills (except cleaning, as that's hard to avoid. More on that later.) There will also be no skills built through self interaction, like yoga. They may only gain skills through eggplant juice, lucky chance cards, and dates if nightlife is involved.
Now, this means that *nothing* that builds skills are in the house. No easel, no television, and no cooking. A step even further from that, they're not allowed to have a 'fridge either. The only exception to this is one counter, which must hold a juicer. The newspaper must only be used for getting jobs, and can not be thrown away.
Now, cleaning they will earn on their own. Don't let them. They must hire a maid from day one. Each full cleaning skill point that they earn by cleaning will result in a point loss. Now, if they just start to earn that point, it's all right, as sometimes they're hard to catch. It's just if you get the notification that so and so earned a cleaning skill from cleaning such and such that you lose the points.
You are welcome to invite neat-freak Sims and servos over to help you out with that, and the fixing of broken items. These items either need to be replace, or fixed by someone outside the house hold, hired and/or uncontrolled.
Pets: Pets can't earn points themselves, but are allowed to be trained, taught skills, and bring in money. Remember though, no one in the family can clean up after them!
Business: None of those outside the house, but you're welcome to have one at home if you'd like. You won't gain or lose points for the business badges you might earn.
Badges: No workbench type badges are allowed. However, you will get points for fishing and gardening badges.
Dates: Go ahead! They're quite helpful. But you must not do them off the lot. In fact, you may only leave the lot to buy food an clothing, and for no other reasons.
Family: You may marry in an npc or townie, and their points count, even the ones they already had. You're welcome to have children, but you may only have a fridge when there is an infant in the house, and only use it for bottles. Toddlers must live off of smart milk. They are not to have training toys, but you are welcome to train them to walk/talk/potty. Children can't have easy bake, but they can be taught to do homework.
Uni: You may send your kids to Uni, but they must not move back in until the challenge is done. They can earn you points before they leave.
Hacks: Use your judgment about the spirit of the challenge when it comes to hacks.
Aspiration items: Two are allowed. Elixir of life if you don't wish for your original Sim to turn elder, and smart milk, if you want to have kids. No Simvac!
Cheats: Cheats related only to building/deco are fine. Move objects for stuck things is good. Aging off is allowed when there are no children in the house.
Points:
One point per skill earned by any family member.
One point per badge color in fishing and gardening.
Three points for completed life time wants.
Negative ten points for earning one cleaning point by cleaning.
There. Once you can get those eggplants, it'll be easy as pie, right?
