The first thing I thought when Bodyshop came out (before the game shipped) was how lacking in detail and colour the Maxis default skins are. My very first Bodyshop project was to bring some colour and life to the Maxis tones. I wanted the skin to glow with health and to appear slightly transluscent as healthy skin does. I also wanted my Sims to look great even without makeup!
Each of these skins features:
- A rosier hue of the Maxis skintone
- Eyelids and eyelashes
- Rosy lips and rosy cheeks, forehead and chin for all-over glow
- No ugly stained teeth for elders - teeth are white for each agegroup
- A few subtle, realistic details
- Consistent look for all age groups including infants.
- You can use makeup right over the top of all of these skintones.
(Girl in this picture is wearing lipstick and blush. Natural skin tones can be seen on the guy.)
Rosy Pale Skin
Light Tan Rosy Skin
Dark Tan Rosy Skin
Dark Rosy Skin
If you wish to have these four skintone shades as the default skins in your game, you will need to download these files:
Adult Female Rosy Skins
Adult Male Rosy Skins
Elder Female Rosy Skins
Elder Male Rosy Skins
Teen Female Rosy Skins
Teen Male Rosy Skins
Baby, Toddler and Child Rosy Skins
As well as the four skintone shades above, I have created a light and darker freckled skintone. The skintone features all-over freckles. The freckles are darker and more pronounced in the areas you would expect - face, chest, shoulders and tops of the arms, and they are paler in other places. The freckles are genetic for all ages, so your sims might have little freckled babies too!
Pale Freckled Skin
Dark Freckled Skin
One more picture, showing how infants look with my skintones. On the left, the dark tan shade, and on the right my pale freckled shade.
