Remember that I got a tablet? (Big pictures)

I thought I'd dare share a few of my drawings. I'm no good at proportions and proper shading, but what do you want from me? I'm an engineer, not an artist.

Er, now I don't know where to begin. I guess I'll share a few of the more complete ones. If you're friends with me on LJ, you may have seen them before along with some more silly sketchy pics. Anyway, here it goes...







I can't think of a single picture I've drawn since getting my tablet that doesn't have a black-haired man in it. The spiky-haired one in the first and last pictures shows up most frequently.

Those are really good, Whitney! I love your style. And you're not so bad at bodies. Mine are much worse and your clothes actually look like clothes. (When I draw bodies they tend to be--um--well necked. ) I love the details on the belts and the spiky hair is great.

Aw, thank you all. I really do struggle with drawing bodies. I swear I wasn't lying, Maddie! It takes me an absurd amount of time staring at photo references and drawing again and again to get things to look right-ish, so I usually just don't bother drawing them.

I want to see more now! And you shold get into deviantart I think.

They're all fanart. The first and last pictures are from Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, a manga series that I've been into lately. It's about the mafia, hence the gun in the last picture. The first picture is based on some fanfiction I read. The shorter guy is apartment shopping (notice the silly looking newspaper) and the taller is being nosy.

Engineers are artists.....don't they design stuff? My husband was in the engineer corp of the Army and he's always drawing up plans for stuff. His 3D drawings always amaze me. Those are supurb Whitney.

Before you say you can't draw, you should have a look at what I do if I try to draw. A 5 years old can do better!

Seriously, I love your drawings Whitney. And I don't know that you can't be both artist and engineer.
