So I finally got off my lazy and did the kitchen for my constructo house. I have admittedly done Asian style before, but I've never done an Asian theme kitchen before, so that's something I think.
None of the three care one way or the other about Asian, so I figured it worked. Ophelia kinda likes red and black as colors, but they're not her favorite colors. And Skip likes black accents with bright colors, but the red is more subdued so I think it squeaks in.
Overview of the kitchen, it backs onto the bathroom and that peculiar little bump out with the plant in it is my way of getting the 35th square.
Only one door in the kitchen, tis an arch. It ended up being a little darker than I was picturing, maybe it's cause I don't have any lights on or maybe it's just cause the whole thing is red and black and gold.
Ignore the floaty dragon and the candle clipping. I didn't when I was arranging the shelves look at the shelves from this angle and by the time I got this far I was tired of fussing with it. It's a magical dragon. Yeah that it. Not laziness, magic...
Anyway, this is obviously the pantry. Just another angle on it.
The girls were in the last room so we see Skip getting a snack. He's got to keep his energy up, he has two older sisters to torment.
The business area of the kitchen. Appliances and all, I totally rule.
Seating for five. I know the lamp doesn't 100% fit the theme, but I liked it in the room.
Teenagers might find skateboards perfectly respectable kitchen décor.
Facing the fridge so you can see the counter skip and the refrigerator door were blocking.
And a nearly completely useless shot of the outside window looking in.
I think the biggest challenge I had with this room, besides trying to figure out something to do at all, was that I'm not very good at decorating with my sims not in mind. I don't decorate that way. I'm so used to, especially when I download, scanning sites for things that I see my sims liking that I had stuff downloaded before I realized that my sim would probably LIKE that.
So what I tried to do when picking the décor was pick things that didn't quite fit. Like the skateboards, Ophelia would probably like them, but she wouldn't have picked those designs. And the candles, I'm sure Alice likes candles, but probably not those holders. I hope that works. I'm suddenly feeling terribly not-confident about the whole thing.
Although that might just be how I'm feeling at the moment. Wishy-washy, nauseated and probably about to cry.
