OK. I admit I'm biassed. I've had a lot of IKEA furniture in Real Life. So having IKEA in the game is something that I've really wanted. So I'm going to get this stuff pack. Here's the link to the screenshots - I'm noticing that a lot of the things in the pack are already available in the community. Anybody want to play match the custom content with the screenshots? thesims2.ea.com/about/sp8_screenshots.php

I really like this one as well. I don't download much CC furniture since I quite like Maxis' things so I love stuff packs.

I love stuff packs as well! I have to buy Kitchen & Bath though before I buy this one, but who doesn't just love (to hate) IKEA?

I love this stuff pack. Ikea has some great furniture, so I'd like to have that in the game too. I don't download that much cc anymore, as it takes too much space in the hdd. And Maxis/EA has done pretty nice stuff to the game lately. The only cc I download is from here.

I hate to say it but there are only 5 or 6 of those items I'll even use because I'm not a really big ikea fan but having said that I'll buy it because it's there. Besides creators come up with such good recolors that make things look so different sometimes. I've often noticed not just in stuff packs but in EP's as well that I recognize cc from my game. As I've been going through stuff and adding my cc back in, I've found a lot of cc that I had long before an EP or stuff pack came out that is exactly the same. I wonder if those same creators were asked if maxis could use their content in the game. How exciting that would be by a creator to be able to contribute that way.

Hey Carol. I know that they definitely did that in Sims1. You remember Sarhra from WDS? Some of her skins were incorporated into the game. And Xandher had some skins in Sims2 - I think she won a competition for it.

I wonder if Sarhra is OK. She didn't even sign in in the old SPG2. I miss her. Xandher should re-join this forum as well. I didn't know that they got their things included in the game! That's amazing.

Jess
Sarhra moved to Canada, and then we never saw her again, I think her new life probably swallowed up all her time. I do wonder how she's going too.
I've emailed a lot of long time lurkers when we moved, and I may have emailed Xandher - I'll check, and if not I'll leave her a message at TSR.

Yaay! Sarhra is coming back to sims! I've missed her too. As for IKEA, I do like some of their stuff irl, but I prefer not having things that I and everyone around me have in their homes in my game. I think the fact that most of IKEA's stuff is based on a square shape makes it boring. However, I'll probably get the new stuff pack anyway!

I remeber back in the day I had the same striped blue/lime vases as the people in Friends. That was seriously creepy!

I remember xandher entering that contest but don't remember ever hearing if she won or not. At any rate I'm impressed with her work just because she's just so darn good.

Oh, looks like Sarhra is alright! Are you emailing her, Kiri, now that she's back to the simming community?

Admittedly, I'm not a huge real life fan of IKEA's things and like Xmasqueen, I personally only really see a few things I really like from this pack.
However, I'm still going to get this pack as I do sometimes decorate places in modern or minimalist styles for some sims or places in the game if it "suits" them. Plus, between the University pack and the new expansion pack due out, it seems like it will fit in very well since I've known a number of people who as university students or who were just starting out did quite a bit of shopping at IKEA for furnishings and owned quite a number of pieces from them.

I'm rather a fan of Ikea even though a lot of the stuff isn't really my style. I like my sims to have different decorating styles though so if I am ever confident with my game again I'll buy it.

I don't decorate my own home in that style, but I do use it alot in my Sims homes, so I'm getting this one.
