Thank you for your reply Kiri (and Lyran I am sure you won't be long with knowing everything there is to know about it...)
I opened up my game to check into the family's inventory (in buy mode) and it wasn't there. However what I had put in there before was still in.
I am sure I lost it with the transition from young adult to adult.
I am playing sooooo vanilla you wouldn't believe it! I don't have any hacks and I don't even have any downloads (except for Riverview from the EA site). I wouldn't even know how to install downloads!
When you say to empty the cache... I went to have a look and I found
DCCache in which there is
dcdb0.ebc
missingdeps.idx
Then there is IGACache which is empty
and then
SigsCache which contains 2 files with the icon of my DVD reader?
igs
platform
They are Media files of 1 Ko each and can't be played!
and finally
WorldCaches which contains 2 files
Riverview_objects.package
Riverview_sims.package
which I think I should not remove??? What do you suggest? I have absolutely no idea what I am dealing with here!
I have just started playing, so I had no backups. Not even one!
I will go and download the hacks you suggested. If I have any problem installing, I will come back here.
Thanks again
Margot
Coming back from downloadingI found the files and downloaded them. However with Story Progression it says it is not updated to work with Generations, so I think I might keep that one for later. I tried reading the post about what the hacks do, but it looked like a lot of gliberish (is that the word?) to me and I didn't understand it. The more I read the more confused I got, but at least I understood that I had to backup because it could go bad!!!
So I made a backup of my whole TS3 folder; then I emptied only the DCCache and now I will try installing the Master Controller and the Overwatch.
Second coming back!I created a folder "Hacks" in My Documents - EA - TS3, I hope that's ok and I installed the 2 mods there. Now I am going to start my game
Third coming backI started ST3 and was shocked when I realized that I had completly lost my game in Riverview. I had started another game in Bridgeport, it is still there and working well (but they are still young adults... and I am very cautious not to leave anything in their personal inventory, also they won't travel until they are full adults!)
I went back to the Game Launcher and saw that Riverview was still in the downloads, but it wasn't installed anymore.
Are there know issues with Riverview as a neighborhood? I like it a lot but if it corrups easily I will do without it.
Thanks
