Can you play The Sims 3 on a Dell XPS 8300? I've never had any other computers than Fujitsu before so I am in dire need of assistance, but if I have understood it correctly you can play the game with it.
Intel® Core i5-2310 Processor with 2,9 GHz (max turbo 3,2GHz) 8 GB RAM 1 TB SATA Hard drive AMD Radeon HD 6770
I play TS1, TS2 and TS3 (of course), but also the Harry Potter games. I also want to be able to use Adobe Photoshop and other programs like that.
Basically I'm on a laptop right now and I've been so for a year, it's not to shabby but I want to be able to enjoy my game on high settings again.
Thanks in advance!

It looks like it. It's certainly got higher specs than mine, and I can play Sims3 on mine. CharlieChomper will be able to say for sure, but as a preliminary opinion - that's mine.

Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry about not having replied sooner (or thought I had, but it looks like ProBoards ate my post as I could have sworn I not only replied to this, but remember writing out quite a bit of information about this--especially with the video card options). :hugs: What version of Photoshop are you using or plan on using and what types of tasks do you plan on doing with it? Regarding the specs as I see them, one thing you may want to be aware of with them is that that specific AMD Radeon series card is actually a relaunched/renamed card from their last generation (specifically, it's the 5770--they did a bit of tweaking to it, but the 6770 is virtually identical including in its performance to the 5770 that proceeded it. However, I should also note the other cards that Dell has to choose from that are from that series have the same situation (I can't get into the why's of this as it would be irresponsible of me to do so on a public forum, but I can say that it wasn't a case of AMD deciding to be greedy about it nor thinking no one would notice it so much as entirely different reasons and will have to leave it at that...). To be honest, I have to admit to being a bit surprised they're not offering the "bigger brother" to that card as the cost difference has been negligible at best, but the performance difference has been considerable. As to the nVidia offerings Dell has listed, they're toward the lower end of the spectrum and while the series they came from was very good, if you're going to be running something demanding upon the hardware, they wouldn't be my first choice--especially if you're looking to run the game on the highest settings. Plus, while I haven't looked into it with my new system (as my video card in it is actually nVidia--although, I have not installed Sims2 on it), Sims 2 historically has had an issue with the infamous never-ending blue loading screen/crash that only appears to happen to nVidia cards (and with exception to EA, I'm not buying the excuse that it's being caused by certain anti-viral software). Regardless, though, without knowing what your current hardware specs are, most of the software you have listed should work well on that setup.
