I'm noticing that in Veronaville, we have two types of architecture - English Tudor for the Capp's and Summerdreams, and Italian Provincial for the Monty's. So I was look at Stratford strip and decided it needed a makeover. It's now neither one or the other. This is Stratford Strip before... This is Stratford Strip after... This is how they are now using the space - a clothing store and craft space on one side, a restaurant and pinball arcade on the other. And a playground outside for the sunny days. In the front there are already bbqs, so I've added a coffee stall under the awning. The pinball arcade is quite funky - I ended up making 1 wallpaper so that I didn't have to use the patterns all over the wall - and I think the pattern looks great as an accent. I haven't changed the toilets at all, but I have added the photobooth outside. The next 3 pictures is the craft area. They also sell perfume, games and magazines to help support the co-op. In the meantime, there are painting, sewing and pottery classes, a television for cookery, and a bookshelf for other study. I believe that the townies may come in for tv and books - but the rest will be used just by my visiting sims. The Clothing Shop - it's small but essential and it works. The restaurant. You've got your waiting area, your eating area and your cooking area. Finally the park - there's a little something for everyone. The really weird thing is that the terrain paint was basically as it is now, so it was crying out for a park.

This looks awesome, Kiri! I played a lot in Veronaville, but I wasn't that fond of the "Monty" side. You've definately improved of it.

Thanks Thea. I'm just improving lots as I expect my family to go there or not. The Monty side is the Italian Provincial - not done well. If I was getting fussy I'd redo the lot of it, but I've decided I'm not going to be fussy

And the thing is? It's all Maxis! There's some wallpapers, and some Piggi recolours of EA stuff, but it's all EA. So it's do-able without lots of custom cc.

Looks excellent! I should makeover the community lots for Pleasantville since they're really big for not much functionality.

I've always like that lot. What you did with it looks really fantastic. I especially like the arcade. You're totally right about those walls. Love the arts and crafts room too.

It looks wonderful Kiri. I think I don't have enough imagination to do a make-over like that. Gosh! I needed help even when I repainted my apartment!

To be honest Sylphide, a lot of what I put in there is remembering similiar shops that I've gone into myself. The Arts and Crafts one was based on a shop that I used to go to that was set up for ceramic painting. It was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed being able to just go in, buy a piece of ceramic, paint it, and pick it up later after it had been in the kiln. With other people dropping in and out, and having coffee and magazines for inspiration.
