As the new kid to the forum ... well, semi-new. I was a member when Fia and Lyran first started the forum, but gradually drifted away. Having recently learned that Kiri had continued the forum, I've re-joined and would like to know what games you all are playing. Are you Sims 1, 2, 3 or all or some of them?
I'm a dedicated S2 player, with all the EPs and SPs and waayyy more cc than I'll ever be able to use. I mostly play the original Pleasantview, though I have some custom hoods I've toyed with.
So what are you all playing?

I was a member for a very short time before Lyran decided to go and Kiri accepted to take over (so lucky for us). I absolutely love this place because it is small and we all get to know one another. You will soon learn that I am french-speaking, and sometimes I write weird sentences! Thank God for Spell check though! I am definitely a TS2 player. I can't imagine myself going back to TS1. I felt that because they weren't getting older all you had to look forward to was their getting rich and having lots of stuff! And do you remember those diner plates? It didn't matter if they were having breakfast, lunch or dinner it was red and green: meat and spinach!!! Kiri still plays TS1 though. I love TS2 for a lot of reasons. I love the animations (the noise of the plastic diaper when the toddlers move on all fours still cracks me up) and I like having a lot of families in the same neighborhood. So obviously I don't like being restricted to only one family in TS3. The only thing I liked in TS3 was the second EP with the trips and the adventures in foreign countries. I like building a multiethnic neighborhood. I used to have one but it got all weird on me. After discussing it with Kiri I found out that because I had not started with a clean game, thousands of Sims were generated by the game and slowed it down. Some houses got corrupted, and frankly I had a few too many Sims.. I had 31 families and some had 6 children. Kiri very generously offered to help me trim down and fix the folder with the Sims generated by the game (she said I could not really just delete that folder because those Sims had relationships with my Sims, so it would make my game even more erratic) but I decided it would be too big an investment of time and chose to start over from scratch. However I have not really had a lot of time to do it, but I started it up a few months ago and now that I am retired (isn't it exciting!) I will be able to put more time into it. I am a very organized girl as you will see in this post (go down in the thread): simpixels3.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=simstalk&thread=3013&page=1I plan on having 20 families this time (I aimed for less, but this would give me little choice for marriages within the kids and they would get consanguinity sooner or later!!!). I have more than half installed and with 1 child. Some are in the game waiting for me to get them married and pregnant and I still have a few to plan with my organized files! I will show you pictures as soon as I can, but this is the part that takes the longest time. I tried to load a Word document with 2 Sims, their hair and clothing, but it didn't work. I don't know why. I have all EPs and SPs and my goal this time is to keep my Downloads folder from bursting! This is why I am doing all that organization in files. Instead of putting 200 hair meshes and skins in the Downloads folder I scroll through my hair files on my computer, decide which hair I will give to a Sim, do the same for all categories of clothing. Then a put only those files in the Downloads folder, in a sub-folder with the Sim's name. However I have some general folders for things like hair for sleeping, furniture and toddler's clothes. For children's clothing I will have to be disciplined because with fakepeep7 at MTS I could very easily go overboard! I have installed my Sims in the neighborhood which came with the hobbies EP. The name won't be helpful to you because my game is in french. The weird thing is that I can't find them in any folder. They must be there somewhere because they are in my game, but I just can't find them.

Sylphide - I've downloaded ALL of Fakepeeps7 stuff from MTS yesterday. It's all organised by mesh and name! I play all 3, though at the moment I don't have Sims3 installed. I've got Sims Medieval as well, but haven't really enjoyed it the way I thought I would. Limited time, has made me select Sims2 because I really missed my hood, I have unfinished stories. Oh - and by the way - Pixella is our Forum Sim, she is up in the Hood forum. It's fun to include her in the game, because she's the same in every game where she's played. In mine however, she's a child at the moment.

Welcome back, Prudence! Although I've played all three games, I'm just a TS3 player now. I mainly play a six-generation Legacy lately and a few other families here and there. I love to see pictures and read stories from all games though. Looking forward to hearing about yours.

Welcome back I joined just before Kiri took over, and has played all three games, although now I only play TS3. I used to lay both TS2 and TS3, but when I changed to mac my TS2 games weren't compatible. I didn't play much of it in the end though, as my favourite sims were in such an old family that it was rather laggy, and I couldn't seem to bond with any new ones. TS3 fits better my playing style Like Whitney though I love seeing pictures from all the games

Wow, Sylphide, you have big plans for your hood. Like you, I am a very organized player. I have an enormous SimsTracker spreadsheet to keep note of every aspect of each of my sims, from their character number/NID to genetics to all the usual stuff like zodiac, aspiration, job, etc. I also have lists of all the lots and all the hairs in my game. Someday I hope to do one for the clothing, but that will be a chore and a half!
Kiri - Thanks for the info/link on Pixella. I had wondered... I used to play the forum-type hoods back in the ol' Sims 1 days -- Lyran and Fia were both in mine -- but I fell out of that after transitioning to S2. I play a whole different style of game now.
Whitnerd/Theachen7 - Thanks for the welcomes and info on your games. I tried S3, but like Sylphide, I'm not much of a Legacy-style player, so it didn't suit. But I'll check out your pix whenever I can!

I just can't get in to TS3. I don't mind some legacy style playing but there's something else about the game that just doesn't do it for me. I thought that would change when Pets came out and... it didn't. I did play it a bit more, especially initially, but I just don't like it as much. TS2 all the way! I still have all my TS1 disks but haven't installed them on this computer and probably wont.

Welcome back pureheart! I cannot even remember when I joined. It was such a long time ago. I guess it must have been very soon after Sims2 emerged. I used to play Sims1 but did not have internet those days....That said I have wonderful memories of my early forum days with Lyran, Fia and Kiri. I was 'newbie' with Sims2 and many a time they helped me out with my games and many other computer related issues. I think the best time I had playing was when I had my Sims2 ForumHood with them all, including Pixella. I still have all of my Forum Sims downloads somewhere on a CD.... I have all the Sims2 expansions, and some stuff packs. As for Sims3 I stopped at Generations. The game was getting to big and my PC couldn't handle anymore additions! I also play Sims Medieval and quite enjoy it. In short, after all these years, at 59 years old am still addicted to Sims in any form!! Felicity

Fia and Lyran were totally helpful to me, as well (though initially on a different forum) and I only recently realized that Kiri was the same Kiri whose cc I have always had in my games! Love her stuff.
Haven't tried Sims Medieval, but it looks like fun. Have you tried Sims Castaway Stories? I really enjoyed that ... but once played, it's done, you can't really expand upon the base game. Can you extend the play with Sims Medieval?

Yeah, I'm like the Inspector Clouseau of the sims community -- totally clueless, LOL.
But this gives me a chance to thank you personally, so it's all good. :)

I am pretty sure I joined the original SimPixels forum, just shortly before it changed to the SimPixels 2 forum... I think!!! I used to be SO addicted... now I only have the time/energy about once a week or so but I remember when my playing was every day, and for a few hours a day! I installed the sims on every computer I had access to... when TS2 came I was just blown away, I remember being beside myself with excitement, the videos and teasers they released were just amazing. I was so excited for it to come, I haven't had that level of expectation and anxiety about something in a long time - including getting married and buying my house. LOL

I am very happy Last night I finished installing and organizing all my fakepeeps7 downloads (my downloads folder is bursting!) and this afternoon I am playing! I is so nice to rediscover some small things with TS2 like the fact that they all learn faster in fall because it's back to school time! I love it! Going back

Moon - Oh, that first excitement! I remember the first weekend I had the brand new Sims 2 -- I played and played and the next thing I knew it was 5 a.m. and I had played all night long! LOL. I sometimes miss that thrill of the new game and new EP, but overall, I'm more content having everything just the way I want it and not having to worry about updating all over again.
Margot - So happy for you! And very, very envious. My PC went down last Sunday, totally locked up and BSOD. I have a new PC on order, but it won't be here until Friday, so Itoday 'm wishing I were you.

I remember Sims1 - I bought it on recommendation from a computer shop guy called Kurt. I started playing it in the afternoon when I got home, and when I looked up it was next morning. I decided then it was a good game, and went and got the livin' large expansion which had just come out.

I am pretty sure I didn't come to TS1 until it had been out quite a while, I think Hot Date or Vacation had already been released. I don't remember how I heard about it, I think I read an article online that mentioned it. So I downloaded an illegal version (that wasn't very good) but I could tell very quickly that it was my kind of game and went out and bought it as soon as I could.

I discovered TS1 around when House Party came out I think. I saw it first when my friends older brother was playing it (He was playing the Roomies household, and I remember there was a broken sink or something, because he had the light haired girl mopping up a bunch of puddles), and later my friend and I played together and I was amazed pretty quickly So then I went out and bought it for myself (or my parents bought it for me I guess, I was probably 10 or 11).

Prudence: I guess your new PC will come in tomorrow. The good thing about a new PC is that it is usually much faster and loads up your game faster because of big new RAM, but the downside is that you have to put everything back in and that takes a lot of time. I will be thinking of you Kiri: I'm sure nobody suggested TS1 to me. I purchased my first computer without any idea about games. You see my first PC was DOS only! I bought it to have a database for my books. Then one day I was at an electronics shop and I saw: "Laura Bo - The Dagger of Amon Ra" That was a game where you were Laura a journalist who has to inquire about an artifact stolen from an Egyptian exhibition. I had to have my PC in the shop to put in 2 mo of RAM in it to be able to install and play the game. That was my first game and I remember it so clearly! I also remember buying a new computer and when the technician asked me what I wanted to do with it (in order to build the machine to my needs) and I answered I wanted to play The Sims, he was pretty much disgusted "That game with the little people you feed and dress?..." I wish I had met Kurt!!! Moon and Thea: I am amazed that you started to play so young and still find it amusing. This is the sign of a great game when it can please all that range of ages.

Margot, every single computer I have purchased and every upgrade I've made to said computers have always been for one purpose - to play the Sims. When I was having one computer built I remember arguing with the guy about my choice of video cards. He could put in an Nvidia of similar specs or I had to wait for the ATI card that I wanted. Since Nvidia cards were notorious for having mystery issues with the game at the time I was pretty adamant about having the ATI and being willing to wait. He just did NOT get it, LOL. I bought this computer last year with the driving force behind it to play TS2/3 and hardly touched the game until recently, LOL.

I had a friend who had The Sims and I played it at her house and loved it. I remember being afraid to ask my parents if I could get it because it had a Teen age rating and I was probably only 10 or 11 at the time. Aah, yes, I remember the days of arguing with my dad about getting a better graphics card so I could play TS2.
