I'm no pro at this so CharlieChomper or someone might have to swoop in and correct me but as far as I know you don't have to do anything. To my understanding those messages mean that there's a plugin on the website, which I think can be for example one of those things that play music and smiliar, that for some reason doesn't work. (Though, I'm not sure, so feel free to correct me, haha). I'm pretty sure you've nothing to worry about though, I get them while surfing now and again too.

It's basically telling you it is having problems with a plugin (which can be anything from a media player (think Quicktime or Windows Media Player or even Flash or Shockwave) to a "reader" (think Adobe Acrobat) or even something like Java (or Java VM)) and it is therefore failing to detect whatever the plugin is, which is preventing it from working properly and causing the problems you're having.
Which web browser is this that is having the problems and on that note, what site(s) is this happening with? The latter may help in determining which plugin is actually the source of the problem, which may help in resolving it.

From looking over that site, it appears that the plugin in question is for MIDI (which is a protocol for sound--with a website, it usually tends to be music). With IE, this could be any number of different programs depending upon what you have set up as the default for that particular format and whether it has a specific plugin form for IE. The only thing you're "losing" is the ability to listen to whatever sound or music the person running the site chose to select to run in the background.

I get a request to update Quicktime, and it plays an incredibly cheesy tune. Felicity - you're not missing ANYTHING!!! I wish they wouldn't do that - I hate cheesy music. Kiri
