While this first change will begin with the beta candidate releases of the version code-named Windows 7, you can expect to see this to come up in both XP and Vista in the future as well. The change in question involves the removal of the "Autorun" feature pertaining to any removable media such as CDs/DVDs, flash/thumb drives, etc. apparently in an attempt to try and better secure Windows from threats--something the security community (especially recently, given some of the malware on the loose) has been especially pushing for and advocating. The other change some of you probably already may have gotten notices about. It involves IE8 being added as a supposed "critical" update to existing and supported versions of Windows (this includes the still-in-development/beta Windows 7 along with XP and Vista) via the updates cycle. There is, however, a way of keeping it off your system if you don't want it there. At the moment, it should be pointed out that it's still not the final release of IE8 and that the browser is still at the "beta" stage.

Thanks so much for the info CC! I have also been getting the notices for the so-called critical update to IE8, but until I hear from you that it is okay to download it will stay there awaiting my action! Felicity
