For those of you using Macs and have not heard about this yet, there is a very serious bug involving the latest version of OS X, Snow Leopard, which is effectively wiping all user data from the system. It appears to happen when a user logs into a guest account and then back into the admin/administrator account--however, doing so won't "guarantee" this of happening, just increasing the risks of losing all your data and having all settings reset themselves, etc. It only appears to be affecting the guest accounts, however, as opposed to the admin account, itself. However, there does appear to be a workaround in the form of disabling being able to log in through a guest account. Or, if a guest account access is necessary, to create a temporary non-admin account. In the meantime, Apple has acknowledged the problem (after a month or more of complaining on just their own forums from users who have experienced this problem) and appears to be working on a patch to fix this. This is but the latest incident introduced with Snow Leopard--prior issues (some of which have still yet to be resolved) have included problems with things like Finder hanging/crashing, as well as issues involving incompatibilities with "apps"/applications that should otherwise work, and problems with AirPort connections dropping.
