Possible change in Firefox for Windows

I should preface this by saying that the proposed changed will only affect those using the Windows "port" (version) of Firefox and will not affect any other platforms such as Mac OS X or Linux, etc. that the browser currently runs on.
The proposed change appears to mainly affect those using Vista and the upcoming Windows 7--it remains unclear as to whether or not XP users may expect this as well or in whether or not there would be a way to make use of the interface that's currently in use.
However, I should post a disclaimer as well regarding the above article (the article didn't contain the update until well after I had actually read the statements made by a member of the Firefox team) as one of the developers ("devs" for short) attached to the Firefox team has publicly commented that the change to the interface will not actually be an adoption of Microsoft's controversial "Ribbon" interface (which Office 2007 uses and has been met with a "love it or hate it" response...) nor actually as similar to it as the article indicates.
What they are actually proposing to do is to "streamline" and allow for the browser interface to "fit in" better with the changes Microsoft has made to their own applications as well as with Vista and Windows 7.
However, as FF 3.7 is still in the beta stages, it also remains unclear as to whether or not they might either provide an option (such as through an add-on) for users who wish to make use of the current interface instead, as had happened when they released 3.0 and some users wished to continue to make use of the older 2.x interface instead.
