That's right, there's another Etsy-shop owner on the board. I've been thinking of it for quite some time and when Madizzo opened hers I finally got around to reading up on what fees they charge and so on. Upon discovering that their fees are quite kick-ass-ly low, I've now opened my own Etsy store. You can visit it here!Right now all that's up is some necklaces I made a few years back (glass beads and metal wire). I am, however, working on some cool things involving my childhood collection of what I've recently learned is called "scraps", "vintage scraps" or "victorian scraps" (or in this case reproduced scraps I suppose, lol). I'm still playing around a bit with my ideas there but with some luck the first things from that project should be up sometime next week, time permitting. I also hope to sell my poetry book from there, but I'm still waiting to hear back from Etsy's support about whether it's okay to sell it since it's not physically handmade (that is, it's machine printed).

Coolnessss! I hearted your shop! :D Haha, yeah VINTAGE! "Vintage victorian handmade cupcake" That must be the ultimate Etsy listing name Seriously though, some people take a Lego brick, drill a hole in it and string it onto a chain. That's a little too easy even for a person like me. Or key's from a old computer keyboard. That's even worse. But I guess it's HIP.

Madizzo, thanks! I think I hearted yours too or if I didn't I'm about it! lol, yeah some stuff's quite simple. But some people manage to pull simple off really well though. At least I take old stuff, glue it, laminate it, add beads and string and then sell it, lol! Well, not yet since I've not completed them but maaaaybe the first scraps (bokmärken, in Swedish) earrings will be up!
I just put $2 for international shipping and $1 for Swedish shipping, it seemed easier.
Madizzo, I'm glad you liked them! I made them a few years ago (kept one for myself) and then found them when I was moving and went "hey, these are kinda neat" so I'm thinking of making some more. I've even put up on my Alchemy page (the page for costum orders) that I'm willing to do costum ones with people's requested colours. But I haven't had time or energy to put much info about that, i figure costum orders can come later.

I just put $2 for international shipping and $1 for Swedish shipping, it seemed easier. . I really don't understand the shipping at the post though. I've been charged different several times even though it's supposed (or at least I think it's supposed to) be one sum for envelopes under 20 g and then one for everything between 20 and 250. darn those people at ICA ;) Uhm, you're making stuff from bokmärken? I'm really excited to see that!!! Doesn't sound very easy to me... When i think about it, I make some very easy stuff to. haha

Hmm..well, the actual postage doesn't change very much actually. It recently changed from 5.5 SEK to 6 SEK for a regular stamp though (so from 11 to 12 for two stamps/international). That is a normal envelope/letter. If jewelry isn't too heavy you should be able to ship with that, I have anyways. Dunno how strict they are though. I decided to just make it simple and low, even if I need to put on a stamp more than what I charge for shipping I'll still make a profit!
Yup! Sounds odd, huh? Will prolly have the first things up tomorrow if I don't sleep too late and miss the morning hours when there's good light in my livingroom for picture-taking.

Congratulations on your shop, Emma! Man, I love the things you all girls make. I'm hopeless with handicraft, so clumsy! I wish I could make such pretty things. I'm awful at drawing and the such as well.

It's really hard having a shop on there. I don't get much views on my stuff at all. You really have to market yourself to be visible. I'm thinking about joining a team. Can't find a suitable one though. And there's none for Swedish shops! Someone should start that up since every other country has its own. Oh and I'm also thinking about selling myself out completely and start up a facebook group. Only problem is that I don't want my friends irl to know about this just yet, in case of the very likely scenario that I will fail.... Hahahaha Have to figure out a way to be a administrator of a group and keep it away from some of the people on my F-list...

I'm considering taking your advice and just doing free shipping and then just adding a buck or two to stuff that's a bit more heavy! Seems easier, no having to bother with currency conversions and all.
What are teams? I haven't done much marketing but then again I'm mostly doing this for fun so I don't really care if I don't sell.
I did finish 3 pairs of earrings but am keeping one for myself and a friend wanted one so on Wednesday (provided I manage to get pictures before school) one pair should be up in my shop, lol! ^^

I'm doing it for fun too. But I figured I may as well try to learn something about marketing when I'm not doing much else with my time anyway Etsy teams: team.etsy.com/

Ah, ok! I'll have to check that out! Well, if you did make a Sweden team at least you'd have one member besides yourself

Haha... Yeah! It would be a very easy team to manage! I joined the European team instead

There's a European one? I should check that out when I get home from work, might be useful somehow.
