Step 03
Rather than make you wade through the MATY threads with it's squillions of pages - I've taken the liberty of uploading the files onto my server - and I'll post them here, with explanations of what I want you to do with them.
Again - because it's vitally important to know exactly what is happening, and because we want to be able to do this the next time we need to install - we're going to create another folder in our Sims2 Installation folder called 'Neighbourhood Zips'
Regardless of whether you have saved neighbourhoods that you are going to add to this, you need to download all the ones you have expansion packs for.
Neighbourhoods that are empty (Click name to download)
(I take no credit for the internal files - these were created by SaraMK and done wonderfully by her).
If you unzip the files in the folder - this is what your folder organisation should look like.
Please note: At this point - we don't care about what we have in the My Documents folders or even in the Program Files Folder.
We are going to set up our New neighbourhoods outside the game itself first. This is so we're going to have everything set up ready and checked before we put it into the game.
We are also going to save the Old Neighbourhoods outside the game as well. This is going to be so we can restore our neighbourhoods if we have problems so we don't have to re-install the game every time we make a mistake.
When we've finished doing all our fiddling we're going to be deleting the current game in the My Documents folder, and re-generating them.
