OK - Now comes the easy bits.
Our Sims2 installation folder is now completely ready and packed with installation goodness. We don't need to add anything more to it. NOW we get to use it!
The easiest way to do this is to open up 2 Windows' File managers next to each other -
one open at New Neighbourhoods in your Sims2 Installation folder.
one open at Program Files\EA Games\
Then what we are going to do is DELETE the neighbourhood in the Programs Files folders, and COPY over the neighbourhood from the New Neighbourhoods folder. One by One.
So it goes like this -
For the BASE GAME:
Go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\UserData\
and delete the Neighborhoods folder.
Copy over our brand spanking new Neighborhoods folder into the same place. (And make sure your Neighborhoods folder is spelt correctly - unlike mine!)
Like this:
For the expansion packs, it's the same thing - except that we copy them over to the neighborhood templates folder - so like this:
Apartment Life:
Delete E002 from
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Apartment Life\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
Copy E002 from our new neighbourhood folder to the same place.
Delete E001 from
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Apartment Life\TSData\Res\UserData\Neighborhoods
Copy E001 from our new neighbourhood folder to the same place.
Bon Voyage:
Delete A001, M001, T001, V001 from
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Bon Voyage\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
Copy A001, M001, T001, V001 from our new neighbourhood folder to the same place.
Free Time:
Delete F002 from
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 FreeTime\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
Copy F002 from our new neighbourhood folder to the same place.
Delete F001 from
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 FreeTime\TSData\Res\UserData\Neighborhoods
Copy F001 from our new neighbourhood folder to the same place.
Nightlife:
Delete D001 from
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Nightlife\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
Copy D001 from our new neighbourhood folder to the same place.
Open for Business:
Delete B001 from
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Open For Business\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
Copy B001 from our new neighbourhood folder to the same place.
Pets:
Delete P001 from
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Pets\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
Copy P001 from our new neighbourhood folder to the same place.
Seasons:
Copy G002 from
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Seasons\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
Copy G002 from our new neighbourhood folder to the same place.
Copy G001 from
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Seasons\TSData\Res\UserData\Neighborhoods
Copy G001 from our new neighbourhood folder to the same place.
University:
Delete U001, U002, U003 from
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 University\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
