I thought participating in the Constructo Challenge could by my way of celebrating SP&G anniversary. I started looking at the posts, but soon realized I wanted to try this on my own. I have a few steps done, but I am not sure I always understood the instructions right. Anyway, those rules made me realize I can build a house that does not look like a shoe box! That in itself is a major accomplishment! So thank you Kiri. Here is the Ledoux family: Cendrine Loves: sandy colors (from beige to cafe latte) Loves: contemporary style Hates: purple Hates: country style Pascal Loves: blue Loves: modern style Hates: red Hates: Gothic style Vincent Loves: green Loves: children's style Hates: black Hates: scandinavian style Véronique Loves: lavender Loves: children's style Hates: burgundy Hates: scandinavian style The first step was the bathroom. Here is a view from the top: Looking from the outside wall: Looking from the inside wall: A nice place to give birth with a pile of books if the baby is late!

Thanks Thea. I quite like it too. Next step is the kitchen. Here is a top view: this is an ensemble view another ensemble view from the other side: this is the side with the fridge, dishwasher, sink, garbage disposal etc. here you have the stove, the clock and some cooking accessories: the eating corner with a table and 6 chairs (I'm not sure they wouldn't get stuck in a corner between the wall and a chair, but we are not playing them so it doesn't matter) I realized quite later (after doing a couple more rooms...) that I forgot about the pantry. So here it is with the wooden door. Back view with the pantry:

The entrance - I wonder if I was wrong to put a staircase in there. It made sense at the time... to get to the second floor! but when I read about the living room and the stairs there I didn't want to start over so I kept it. Entrance view from the top: Second floor entrance view from top: It's always nice to be able to sit when to take off your boots full of mud! Here is another view: This view from the inside shows the burglar alarm and a painting Pascal made of his wife and two kids. There is also the coffee table to put the bills on. I thought maybe you would like to see the portrait: In this wider view, you can see that Cendrine forgot a coffee cup on a table. The door to the other room is just left of that table. and here you have a drawing Véronique made in school and Vincent's baseball bat and mitt. The lamp is the same as the one over the kitchen table, only different color. a nicer view of the second floor the outside entrance and a view of the entrance for afar (I reserve the right to do the landscaping later... I hope that's ok)

Working on it! Cendrine loves sewing. She swears she couldn't live without her sewing machine. Vincent plays the violin and he loves it. He never complains when practice time comes. Pascal is a gifted painter. He sold a lot of his works and he is very proud of the family portrait he did. Véronique enjoys cooking. Cendrine has to make sure her daughter eats properly and doesn't eat only the muffins she bakes with her own stove.

Livin Large! First is a picture showing that both sides of the entrance are symmetrical. Top view: When you go into the living room this is what you see: Entering the living room on the left hand side is the chess board table On the right hand side you can see the wall with a different wallpaper, the huge television with speakers for surround sound and the bookcase Facing the television is a comfortable love seat with a mirror over it, more speakers and a game box (is that how you call it?) Next to the stairs we have a bar with double doors behind it This is the view of the bar coming in from the double doors.

Margot, that is a beautiful home! I love every room, and your attention to detail too! In the work room, each one even has their own choice of floor tile! Felicity

It's a beautiful house, Margot! I especially like the kitchen and the colours you used in there. You have lots of great ideas in each room. I think the stairs totally make sense in the entrance!

Its beautiful -- nice woods everywhere. I especially like the books in case anyone is bored during labor But the entryway is very elegant, and the Moroccan table set in the kitchen is great!
