How to update your NPC's
METHOD 01 - IN GAME
Step 1: Download your tools
Download Tools
What they are:
1. Christian Love's Clothing Rack.
This allows you to do change clothes/buy clothes for anyone, change facial structure, change appearance for anyone.
2. Merola's Mind Control Mirror.
This allows you to take temporary control of an NPC on your lot.
3. Inge's Teleporter Painting.
This allows you to summon and dismiss anyone from the hood. You can also create Townies with it using existing sims.
Put them in your download folder before starting up your game. I have them in a sub-folder called Hacks.
Step 2: - Go into the Game
Enter the lot.
Install the Rack, the Painting and the Mirror. I use them all for different things.
Motherlode your sim - You need simoleons for this!
Step 3: Changing faces -
Click on the Rack.
Select NeighborSurgery - new list!
As you can see, you can choose all sorts of sims - choose the type you want - I'm going to choose Townie. It brings up a similiar window to what you get with the phone.
The bonus of the rack, is that you can see the faces of the townie you're going to change.
Choose whatever sim you want to change.
They magically appear in a blue light, and start fiddling with the rack. Then the hourglass starts up. This will take some time - it's loading up a fair amount of stuff.
It brings up 2 windows.
The first window is to change facial Structure.
These are similiar to CAS. And I'll let you fiddle around with them.
When you're done. Click the Tick.OK!
The second window is now brought up - Hair and Makeup.
Please note - you can't change eye-colour or skin tone or DNA.If you want to do that - we need to use a different method.
Your Townie Sim will hang around on your lot once they have their new face. Don't worry about that - there are ways and means of getting rid of them! But it's not needed yet.
Step 4: Changing Clothes -
Go back to the rack, and Select Neighbour BUY Clothes. You'll notice that this time your sim walks to the rack, rather than summon out of blue light.
This brings up the same dialogs as your normal rack buying, and requires the same thing. i.e. Simoleons!
As soon as you've bought the clothes and Clicked the Tick,
the Plan Outfit window will come up. Choose your outfit.
Click the Tick. OK.
Step 5: Controlling your NPC for photos!
What happens if you want to pose them first for glamour photos to show off their new looks?
This is where the mirror comes in!
With the NPC Sim still on the lot,
Select the Mirror, choose Select Other, and when the menu comes up, Select the sim you want to style.
When you do this - you'll notice that your NPC sim gets a little box on the side. You can now control them on the lot. Make the sim do what you want for your pics, etc.
Then you can - Clear them off! That will remove them from the side list, and they're all set for your world.
Step 6: Sending the NPC away:
Now all being well, they will walk around, interact with placeholder sim, and generally get in the way or be a nuisance.
You can make them walk away just by getting placeholder saying goodbye to them.
That gets tedious if you have a stack of non-household sims on your lot.
If you've got a few sims, or you just want them to disappear.
Select the Painting, and choose 'Clear Off...'
A menu will come up - it will list all the non-residents on the lot, and there's also a 'All Non-residents' choice.
Clicking that will get rid of all your sims, except placeholder.
And? You're done! A lovely newly gussied up NPC is in your game.
