Because I'm just incapable of using the maxis house without fiddling with the innards. On the Ground Floor, the stairs were reversed and the walls were brought down to have a single open-plan room. Half-walls were added to keep the kitchen separated, but visually open to keep the place looking larger than normal. The small dining area in the Alcove, uses the same chairs as the desk and the colour of the cloth is similiar to wood in the desk - so that it keeps the eye moving. :) Upstairs I moved the bathroom from the left to the right hand side, so the balcony is now accessible without having to squeeze in. The half-wall is used for the stairs to make it look more continuous, and the wall is painted in the blue as an accent. Moving the bathroom over, meant there was room for a reading area. The bathroom is basic but functional. :) The bedroom is set up with clean masculine lines. The stripes in the rug and bedspread make the rooms look wider than it is. So there you go - a completely maxis content house except for the Wedding-Cake Siding I was testing.

I love it Kiri, You should work as a consultant for people who renovate and redecorate their homes. Or you should do it on a TV show. Those are very popular these days. You might make a bundle!!!

I really like it. It's small but it still somehow looks spacious.

This one is from the base game - it was the first house I ever put my self-sim in. Margot - thanks for the vote of confidence... but to be honest - Even though it is another 15 years away I'm looking forward to retiring.

I understand quite well, and even though you might not believe me, it will go very fast... and then you can have that second cup of coffee in your pyjamas!

Thanks Karen! I was designing it with a guy in mind. But pale wood is always my favourite.
