I realize this board has become quiet lately and people busy, but after seeing the mention of Sims 4, I have to admit there's a big part of me that still feels like I've still so much I want to do/explore in Sims 3 as well as just Sims 2 still and quite honestly while there hasn't been much (if any definite?) information even released about Sims 4 yet (aside from the projected release date), part of me still feels like it's somehow "too soon" for it and I'm not "ready" yet to even consider it.

I am definitely not ready for Sims 4 yet, which is why I'll try to avoid most of the info for it, for fear of being tempted I said to myself that I would still play the sims after sims 2 came out, but I ended up getting bored with it and only loading it up for a tiny bit of nostalgia. I also made an almost completely switch to sims 3, but that also because of computer trouble with my sims 2, and then not being able to play it on my mac. Appart from the occasional bug I'm very satisfied with sims 3, as it suits my playing style and I don't get as bored as I would sometimes get with sims 2 (I had a tendency of just wanting to see what their kids looked like without actually taking time to enjoy their life, with exceptions of course). I did actually load up my sims 2 game at my old computer, and played for quite a bit. If I can ever afford to get a computer for sims I think I'll enjoy both 2 and 3. With 4 I have no interest at the moment, and so will try to hold off the curiosity and maybe check it out at a later time Sorry for the long ramble, I'm supposed to be getting to bed so I get chatty

I'm actually ready for TS4. Sadly, I think TS3 must be my least favourite of all the Sims games so far. I have spent more time figuring out how to make it work for me than actually playing and enjoying it. I hope TS4 is less frustrating and more fun. I enjoyed both TS1 and TS2 immensely and love TS3 as well, but it just isn't the same.

I love that you asked this question CC. I think we are going to have very different and interesting positions here...
I don't play TS3, although I sometimes feel like I'm missing something when I see the pictures you post, I am really happy with me TS2.
I don't think I'm even interested in TS4, except for the pictures you girls will post of course!

To be honest, I'm ignoring TS4 until it actually gets here. I've never really enjoyed the speculation phase of a game.
I've been fully engrossed in TS2, and have only just started playing TS3 again. Part of what I like about TS2 has been the stableness of it, now that there are no more expansion packs and updates. I don't have to worry about updating my hacks every time EA muck things up.

I am curious about what TS4 will bring but I haven't looked at any of the lead up stuff.
I am still hoping someone will give me a reason to get in to TS3. I find the gameplay much more difficult and it is as though I can't get my sims to accomplish much of anything. They're always poor, relationships are hard to achieve and I just don't get much wonder and whimsy from it all. The Pets expansion helped a little but not enough to make me want to visit in.

I'm not ready yet either. I'm enjoying the occasional TS4 screenshot or video, and I'm sure I'll buy a copy eventually, but it'll probably take me a little while. I think with TS3 I waited until I got to generation 10 of my Legacy in TS2 before buying it. I think I was also waiting for people to start cranking out CC.

So I just watched a couple of TS4 videos and if the sims *actually* look in the game the way they do in the videos I might be a very happy camper. Their faces reminded me more of TS2 style sims and were kind of cartoony and I really like that. But then I saw a picture that was labelled TS4 but looked like TS3 and then I was less happy. So I am going to look around more. The customization level available for the sims looks awesome.
I really want the game to feel more playable than TS3 does. I feel like I work so hard just to keep them bloody well alive.

It's funny you mention that Moon, as I remember when I first played Sims 3 feeling almost overwhelmed by it in a way--especially because of that as my two sims ended up multiplying into a family of eight and somehow, it felt more "manageable" to deal with in previous versions but not so much with Sims 3 initially. It was amongst the reasons why I initially returned back to Sims2 (aside from my old system not getting along at times with Sims3, amongst other reasons--it barely met minimum requirements...).
When I finally did go back to Sims3 (and after countless cries over the not if, but when scenario I was dealing with given either crashing or random reboots or even freezes I had to deal with on my old system), it somehow became "easier" to deal with or to get used to--even more so on my newer system (where the game handles like a completely different game for me now in comparison).
However, I still periodically play Sims2 in addition to Sims3 (as I have them on different systems) when I can get time for them.

Well hello to all! Talking about Sims 4 - at present I am not too excited as yet, although am curious as to what it will look like. I have not played Sims 3 long enough to get everything that the game offers so am enjoying playing still, when I get the chance. Felicity
