Hiya,
So, I've been for ages wanting to install a surfbarre, but it won't install and I've been told it's because I need to have .Net Framework 2.0 installed. However, when I look in my controle panel and get a list of intalled programs, it's already on the list. If I either try to uninstall it, try to repair it via the install program or download the setup file all over again the installation fails right away... I've tried checking Microsoft's site for support, but can't find any articles that help me and I can't seem to find any support chat/email system that is fre which is wierd cos I've done that before.
Anyone have a clue how to help?

The .Net framework tends to be a bit "fickle" in some ways and moreso with its relationship to Windows. However, do you have SimPe by any chance installed as well? The reason I ask is because from what I remember, current versions of it appear to rely on .Net 2.0? If it runs SimPe, this may not be a .Net problem, but could be a problem elsewhere. If SimPe doesn't run, let me know. Sorry for not having spotted this much earlier.

I don't use SimPE as I don't play atm but I did try to start it up just now and it fails on startup like when I try to install or uninstall the other stuff.

I don't mind at all! It's not like it's urgent! Thanks so much for helping!

On closer inspection I've discovered my Clean Installer crashes too. Could this be connected?

Definitely, as Clean Installer requires the .Net framework to run. I'm actually still looking into this, so my apologies for taking so long in trying to provide more definite answers or things to try and resolve this.

I've said it before; it's okay. No rush!
