Word of caution about new XP updates...

Last night, I enabled internet access to XP. In looking over the update information, it initially didn't appear to be anything too bad and aside from the Zone Alarm issue with one update (I had to remove Zone Alarm from my system due to another issue I had been having with it, last week--for those unaware of the issues, having Zone Alarm installed on a computer that also has the update installed can potentially cause a conflict preventing you from being able to access a network or the internet without either removing the update or making changes to lower the safety/security options in Zone Alarm), there hadn't been any reports of any issues that had arisen as a result of the current updates, so I went ahead and chose to download them.
However, when I went to install them (choosing to use the custom install option), I was less than pleased (putting it mildly) to read that detection tool for certain worms on the loose (Blaster, Sasser, etc.) now has its own licensing terms. However, that wasn't so much what bothered me so much as the licensing terms, themselves (among my biggest problems with it involve privacy-related issues with it).
When next I happen to get onto XP and if the licensing terms get brought up again, I plan on doing a copy/paste to post them here to display them.
Regardless and needless to say, I did not install the new updates...
Also, I should probably add in the spirit of fairness, that they're not the only ones to release an update or patch in the last year to cause a major issue of this nature. There was a patch released sometime during the last year that effectively disabled certain network options to OS X. They didn't finally issue a patch to repair the problem until just a few months ago--and without announcing it to their users (as they never officially acknowledged that the problem even existed).
