After a lot of trial and error and sweat I have finally finished a complete set of face replacements for your game. Here are some of the special features of this set:
1) All ages and sexes have been custom "tweaked" so they look alike but common Maxis problems have been corrected. For example, if you change your sim from female to male, your sim won't suddenly grow a nose long enough to rival Pinnochio! Male sims actually have some lips as opposed to no lips in the Maxis sims. Elderly sims have nice neat chin tucks (no flabby necks) and also have lips.
2) All sim's faces were raised upwards by two clicks. This means that enormously long Maxis foreheads need no longer be corrected.
3) I have made an effort to make sure all facial features "line up" nicely from face to face. Eyes, noses, mouths etc are all in about the same general area of the facial plane. This means you can breed two sims from this set together with confidence - the resulting children will not be scary looking!
I have tested the genetics of almost all these faces with one another (making a temporary "baby farm" with hacks ) and I can assure you though some sims may be more attractive than others, all sims I have seen so far produced from these faces are normal looking.
4) These pictures are small, so it is hard to tell from looking at them but I hope you will agree that I have managed to inject plenty of diversity from face to face. I made a huge effort to use faces from different ethnic backgrounds, and also two versions of an Elf face also. I downloaded and also imported hundreds of my own sims into Body Shop and narrowed them down through trial and error to come up with a set of 27 faces that were relatively attractive, normal-looking, diverse, yet interesting. This took many many weeks!
5) If you put these faces in your game you can pick and choose. You do not have to have the whole lot at once. Once installed in your Downloads folder, they will NOT over-write any existing faces in your game. But future sims generated by the game will be generated off these faces. Also, these faces will show as the new archetypes when you want to make a new sim in CAS or Bodyshop.
6) Of course if you want to start your hood all over again, every new Townie, Downtownie, Uni resident and NPC will be generated using these faces. Complete instructions how do to this are here.
7) If you combine these face replacements with my new Townie names you will have (in my opinion anyway) loads of attractive and interesting Townies with fascinating names in your game. I hope you will find yourself wanting to interract with these new characters so Townies and NPC's may no longer be a waste of space.
Here are pictures of the new faces. Remember the small size of these pictures minimalizes differences between them. In-game I hope you will find the faces are diverse and interesting!
